Started with a hearty homemade breakfast.

First stop: Shanghai South Bund Material Market 上海南外滩轻纺面料市场 @ 399 Liujiabang Road.

It is 4 floors of tailors and many many kind of materials including silk, cashmere, wool. We had so many choices that we were both dazed. Lotsa times were spent bargaining with the friendly tailors for good prices. Were there for a good half a day. But all was worthwhile. Both Ade & myself are satisfied with the end product when we collected it on the 16th. Thankfully! And even proceed to have more shirts tailored. Paiseh have to trouble T. to pick it up for us. Oh ya it would be good for you to bring samples or pictures for the tailor. Some have really limited designs only.
Second stop: A.P. New XinYang Fashion Market @ Shanghai Science & Technology Museum 上海科技馆. Address:上海市浦东世纪大道 which is easily accessible via 地铁2号线.

Knowing that we will be heading to Qipu Lu wholesale market the following day, we didn’t loiter to long at this place, which is overrun by foreigners.
Our one & only train ride. As cab rides are so so affordable in this cosmopolitan city.

Before we know it, it’s DINNER TIME!
T. brought us to上海人家

Since we were there a tad too late, some of their 招牌菜 were sold out. Nonetheless, the others were still yummlicious…
Some of the food we ordered were:
开胃前菜 (青瓜鸭掌)
传统精选 (老上海油爆虾/ 清炒河虾仁)
概念素斋 (兰花鲍片)
田园风光 (荠菜蘑菇花菜)
香色主食 (蟹粉小笼)
It’s not hard to match the name of the dish with the photos above ya.
Location: 陕西南路90号近长乐路
Getting there: 地铁1号线陕西南路站
Contact: 5403-7888
Operatin hours: 11am-2pm, 5pm-11pm

After such a heavy dinner, of course have to exercise abit la. So check off another must see place for first timer in SH, that is a walk along南京步行街China's premier shopping street and well known for its stationary and bookstores. As the name suggest, it is car-free but visitors have a choice to hop onto the tram cruising the 3.4-mile-long street.
To end of the day, T. recommended that we go to People 7 Bar (迎七). Since SH is a good city for walking, we strolled along the Old French Concession Streets which are lined with trees, trendy boutiques and restaurants b4 reaching our destination.

One of Shanghai's hippest spots, with a quirky entrance and unique bathrooms. Quite like the place with a relaxed & warm ambience. Do visit the bar if you are in SH. Located @ 805 Julu Road by Fumin Road.
